Western Pa. Man Falsified Mine Safety Reports

State agents have arrested a Greene County man for allegedly falsifying safety inspection reports at a coal mine in southwestern Pennsylvania.
Thursday’s announcement by Attorney General Linda Kelly came a day after federal officials charged that workers at a West Virginia coal mine where an explosion killed 29 men were pressured to omit safety problems from official reports, while operator Massey Energy ( MEE – news – people ) kept another set of accurate books for itself.
