Japan, Canada Agree on Shale Gas Cooperation
From The Japan News
Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Toshimitsu Motegi and Canadian Natural Resources Minister Joe Oliver agreed Friday to strengthen the two countries’ cooperation to help Japan import shale gas from Canada at an early date.
The two countries will discuss such issues as infrastructure development, speedy approval procedures and securing workforce for gas projects. The discussions will be joined by government and private-sector officials.
Japan hopes to start shale gas imports from Canada as soon as possible by enhancing cooperation both at government and business levels, Motegi said at a joint news conference with Oliver after their meeting in Vancouver.
