Korea Gas August LNG Sales Rise 17.9% On Year

South Korea’s state-owned Korea Gas Corp said Monday that its LNG sales in August rose 17.9% year on year, marking the fifth consecutive month of growth.
Kogas, which has a monopoly on domestic natural gas sales, sold 2.51 million mt of LNG in August, compared with 2.13 million mt in August 2012.
Of the total, sales to power generators was up 31.0% year on year at 1.58 million mt, while sales to retail gas companies for households and businesses edged up 0.7% on the year to 0.93 million mt.
