BHP Billiton says it has halted work on its IndoMet coal project in Indonesia after a contract worker died from his injuries at the construction area.
An investigation into the incident, which took place yesterday, is under way, the Anglo-Australian mining company said in a statement on its website.
“Operations at the site were immediately stopped and a full investigation is underway,” BHP said in the statement.
