Eni Successfully Drilled Appraisal Oil Well Offshore Ghana

Eni SpA (E), Italy’s biggest energy company by market value, said Thursday it has successfully drilled the first oil appraisal well in the Sankofa East discovery, offshore Ghana, adding it has immediately started plans for the commercial exploitation of the crude reserves.

In a statement, Eni said the Sankofa East 2A well, located in the Offshore Cape Three Points, OCTP, block in the Tano Basin, has estimated recoverable resources of up to 150 million barrels.

Eni also said it estimates overall recoverable resources in the OCTP block at about 450 million barrels of oil equivalent, including natural gas and associated liquids.
