New Massachusetts Program Aims to Reduce Energy Costs

Officials from the Patrick administration are planning to unveil what they are calling ambitious new energy goals to reduce energy consumption.
Secretary of Administration and Finance Glen Shor and Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs Richard Sullivan are planning to announce the Accelerated Energy Program Tuesday at Springfield Technical Community College.
Officials said the program is designed to reduce energy consumption at 700 state facilities, saving taxpayers $43 million annually and creating clean energy jobs for up to 4,000 people.
