Duke Energy Stopped From Cutting Trees in Greensboro
From Business Journal

Greensboro residents and officials found themselves springing into action Thursday to prevent Duke Energy Corp. from cutting down more trees in the city, the News & Record reports.
The city had said it will take legal action if Duke did not stop all nonemergency tree trimming and removal by 5 p.m. yesterday. City officials and residents prevented contractors at some sites from doing more tree work, and all trimming operations were stopped by Duke Thursday afternoon.
Duke (NYSE: DUK) and city officials are expected to meet today on the issue, which has caused a deluge of complaints from residents that trees are being hacked down, rather than trimmed.
