Cuba Backs Iran Right to Develop N-Technology for Peaceful Purposes

Meeting with Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for European and American Affairs, Ali Asghar Khaji, Medina also criticized the West’s use of pretexts to level false accusations against Iran over its nuclear energy program, Mehr News Agency reported on Tuesday.

He praised Iran’s role in regional and international arenas in supporting global peace and justice and expansion of cooperation among independent and non-aligned nations.

He also said that Cuba backs Iran’s initiatives, including a Middle East free of weapons of mass destruction, the establishment of an independent Palestinian government, the restoration of the rights of the Palestinians, and the resolution of the Syria unrest without foreign interference.

The Cuban official also called for the expansion of economic ties between Tehran and Havana.
Khaji, for his part, lauded Cuba’s support for Iran’s rights in the international arena. He also expressed Tehran’s readiness to develop ties with Havana and stressed Iranian authorities’ determination to boost the level of ties with the Latin American country.

The United States, Israel, and some of their allies have repeatedly accused Iran of pursuing non-civilian objectives in its nuclear energy program.
