India, Japan Resume Nuclear Power Talks
From Nuclear Street
Leaders from India and Japan have made overtures that they will resume collaboration on civilian nuclear technology.
Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda discussed the issue at the East Asia Summit in Cambodia last week, the Times of India reported. Japan and the subcontinent had entered three rounds of negotiations on the sharing of Japanese nuclear technology before they stalled following the Fukushima Daiichi crisis. The Times reported that one talking point had been India’s law that makes suppliers liable in the event of an accident.
