Iraq Oil Pipeline Bombed (Again)
From New York Times
Attackers bombed a frequently attacked oil pipeline north of Baghdad, slowing production at a refinery in the capital by half, Iraq’s Oil Ministry said Wednesday.
No one was hurt in the bombing, on Tuesday night, in Rashidiya, just north of the city.
The capacity at Baghdad’s Dora refinery was cut from around 140,000 barrels per day to 70,000 following the attack, said Assem Jihad, a spokesman for the Oil Ministry. The Dora refinery produces about 10 products, including kerosene, plane fuel and diesel. The pipeline runs from oil fields in Kirkuk Province to Baghdad. It has been bombed multiple times since 2004.
