Vietnam To Make Sure Nuclear Power Plant Meets Safety Standards

VNS quoted Mr Le Dinh Tien deputy minister of Science and Technology as saying that Viet Nam will rely on the latest advances in technology to ensure that its first nuclear power plant meets the highest possible safety standards.

The plant, which is currently being built in central Ninh Thuan Province, will be hundreds of times safer than the world”s first reactors, which were built in the 1950s. In 1996, the country started to prepare for the plant”s development. The project was approved three years ago.
