Cuba's Oil Search Continues Despite Failed Attempt

Cuba will continue to explore for oil in the Gulf of Mexico despite hitting a dry well in its initial attempt, a state-run oil company said Wednesday.

The failure of the first well drilled by Repsol, a Spanish-owned oil company, “does not nullify the prospects for this oil-rich area,” Petroleos de Cuba (Cupet) said in a statement.
